Lesson 1: Welcome & Course Introduction

This training is not designed to simply give you information about leadership—it is designed to form you as a leader. The role of an Assistant Pastor carries both responsibility and weight, and it requires more than knowledge. It requires alignment, maturity, and a heart that is postured before God.

Throughout this course, we will not only explore the function of the role, but also the foundation that sustains it. You will be guided through principles that address your identity, your posture before God, your relationships in leadership, and your ability to endure in the work of the ministry.

This is not a course to rush through. It is a process to walk through.

You may find that some areas challenge you, while others bring clarity and confirmation. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you engage each section. Take time to reflect, apply, and respond to what is being revealed.

Before you lead people, you must learn how to stand before God.
Before you function in role, you must be secure in identity.
Before you speak publicly, you must be shaped privately.

As you move through this training, remain open, remain teachable, and remain committed to growth. This is a safe place to learn, to develop, and to be strengthened for the assignment God has given you.
